  • 'Round the Room When you begin your spring cleaning, try to focus on one room at a time. Begin at the door of that room and move 'ROUND THE ROOM clockwise, organizing, cleaning, and dusting as you go. Rather than running single items to another room where you might be distracted, place those things into a box to be put in their proper place later. You'll be surprised how quickly your spring cleaning is finished! Submitted By: Peggy(Added: 12-Feb-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 9.72 Votes: 7) Rate It

  • A Great Holiday Idea Brighten & illuminate your party, holiday or special event with Luminaries Traditionally, luminaries are made from small paper bags with votive candles set inside. The inside will need to be weighted down with sand. I would say about 2 inches of sand. You then line walkways, driveways, mantels and even staircases. They are absolutely gorgeous, yet simple and affordable. They can be used for any occasion or holiday, especially Halloween and Christmas. If your tradition is to include your children on your holiday decorating, you may have them easily decorate the paper bags with drawings, holiday hole punches, or cut designs. You may use traditional brown bags, or bags in holiday colors. You can find them at party supply stores. As well, you may be able to find preprinted themed bags. Place one to two inches of sand in the bottom of each paper bag. Nestle a tea light or votive candle into the center of the sand. If you are little bit leery about using wax candles, you may also use the electric votives. Electric Votives These luminaries are also a beautiful touch to an outdoor wedding. You will want to make sure you use white paper sacks and design it in the same manner as mentioned above. I would even suggest placing beautiful glitter or shiny wedding decals on the outside. When setting your luminaries out, make sure you have enough bags and sand to even line your walkway or driveway. I would also suggest placing the luminaries anywhere from 6 inches to 2 feet apart at equal intervals. With luminaries growing in popularity, you may even find plastic or ceramic containers for a lasting luminary fixture. • A Little Dawn goes a long way Just because we have dishwashers now doesn't mean that Dawn is no longer useful. I use more dawn around my house than I do in the sink. Got a greasy stain on that shirt or pants and it won't come out. Just dab and rub in some Dawn and the stain even if the shirt has been washed before will come right out. I love to add just a small amount of Dawn to every load to get the grease out of pillow cases and socks. Also add a dimesize to your next load in the dishwasher (along with your regular detergent) and you will no longer struggle with greasy plastic in your next load. Anywhere there is a grease stain I have been able to get it up with dawn and I've never suffered from any form of discoloration on my clothes, walls or carpet. • All on the level When hanging pictures on your walls instead of making a thousand holes trying to get it right, take the picture and cut out a piece of paper the same size and pin them on the walls to see what the arrangement will look like before you put the real deal up and they will all be on the level. • All Purpose Wipes I keep a box of baby wipes in each bathroom, and in the kitchen to use in between thorough cleanings. They are great for wiping the sink, and the toilet after my four-year old son has used it: Submitted By: Amy Marinelli(Added: 18-Jul-2000 Hits: 0 Rating: 8.50 Votes: 6) Rate It

  • Another Toy Storage Place Another good way to use empty baby wipe containers, is by putting little toys that would usually get lost or in the way. You can keep it in the bathroom for all those little bathtime toys, or use it for your own personal use. You can use it for crayons, pencils, buttons, sewing materials, or craft materials. • Another Use For Tthose Diapers When your little one grows out of a certain size diaper and you are stuck with a ton of the wrong size, attatch the extras to your swiffer floor cleaner instead of buying new swiffer clothes. It really works on the floors. • Another use for your baby monitor If your laundry area is far away from your primary living space, here's a way to keep tabs on the progress of your laundry. Take your baby monitor and put the base next to your washer/dryer. Keep the receiver with you wherever you are in the house. This way, you can tell when the laundry needs to me moved along. • Ants If you find that you are starting to see ants in you home and do not want to use an inside pesiticide (harmful to our pets and little ones), simply place a fresh bay leaf where you see them coming in. Salt and cinnamon also work, but I find that a fresh bay leaf really does the trick. Another bonus is that your pets will stay far away from them. • Apple Cider Vinegar APPLE CIDER VINEGAR Fleas, flies, ticks and bacteria, external parasites, ring worm, fungus, staphylococcus, streptococcus, pneumococcus, mange, etc., are unlikely to inhabit a dog whose system is acidic inside and out. Should you ever experience any of these with your dog, bathe with a nice gentle herbal shampoo -- one that you would use on your own hair -- rinse thoroughly, and then sponge on ACV diluted with equal amounts of warm water. Allow your dog to drip dry. It is not necessary to use harsh chemicals for minor flea infestations. All fleas drown in soapy water and the ACV rinse makes the skin too acidic for a re-infestation. If you are worried about picking up fleas when you take your dog away from home, keep some ACV in a spray bottle, and spray your dog before you leave home, and when you get back. Take some with you and keep it in the car, just in case you need it any time. Obviously for major infestations, more drastic measures are necessary. ACV normalizes the pH levels of the skin, makes your dog unpalatable to even the nastiest of bacteria and you have a dog that smells like a salad, a small price to pay! • Baby Oil for a Cleaner Baby oil has lots of uses. Try using it to remove tar, oil, grease, paint, or varnish from your hands, paint from furniture, and tape residue from skin. Submitted By: MsJudy(Added: 27-Feb-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 10.00 Votes: 1) Rate It

  • Baby Oil Gel Usage Baby Oil Gel tip We had an Oak table dry out on us (My Fault) Well we had a tube of the Baby Oil Gel. My Daughter and I took the Gel (the Whole Tube) and rubbed it into Every Nook and Cranny on the table! (Including the UNDER side of the table top) We covered it with wax paper and the table cloth and then forgot about it! When we changed the table cloth (it is Vinyl) for the season we remebered the wax paper and took it up to look! Well the Whole Table looks like BRAND NEW! Give it a try if you have a real wood piece that has dried out! This table BTW is antique. IT is also Great for a Once a Month Oil treatment on Wood surfaces. I have tried other oils on my woods but this is SUPER and smells good too! Submitted By: Lisa DeShane(Added: 1-May-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 10.00 Votes: 5) Rate It

  • Baby safe spray cleaner I used to worry about using spray cleaners like Windex and 409 on things like high chair trays and toys that my baby may put his mouth on. I now use the produce wash product Fit diluted 1:1 in a spray bottle. It works really well at cleaning up messes and is completely safe for baby.
