laundry problems
When doing laundry with spots and stains that are unrecognizable, try using shampoo. Just your basic generic shampoo will do. It is less expensive, does the job and smells really good. I did not believe it till I tried it. works great for me. I have four kids and I know what happens to those clothes.

Laundry Softener
If you ever run out of fabric softner (liquid or sheets) Put 2 to 3 drops of conditioner on a cloth. Your clothes will come out soft and smelling fresh!.

Letters for Children's Room
I had been wanting to put my daughter's name over her bed ever since she was born. I have looked in all the children's catalog, tj maxx and marshalls only to find that they were out of my price range ($7 and up per letter). I was looking in Wal-Mart craft section and they carry the wood letters for 1.97 per letter. I bought an $.86 bottle of paint and a spool of ribbon for $2.86 and went to work. When I finished I had paint left over and now CHRISTINA can learn to spell her name because it is over her bed.

Lighting Jar Candles
An easy and inexpensive way to light those big candles that come in jars. Light a stick of dry spaghetti. Use the spaghetti like you would a long match. One stick will last for several uses, unlike those long matches that you buy.

Lint Trap
I was having a hard time getting all of the lint off of the lint trap on the dryer. It was driving me crazy! I tried using the water hose on my sink and it never got it all. Scrubbing Bubbles did the trick. I sprayed it on and then hosed it off. No lint.

Liquid Soap Saver
I put a rubber band around the neck of the pump on our liquid soap bottle to make the amount of soap that comes out at a time smaller. I run a childcare and we went through a bottle of liquid soap a week before I started doing this. And, it takes less time to rinse it all off the tiny hands.

MAKE GOOD USE OF BATH TIME
Since you can't leave children alone while they're taking a bath, clean the bathroom! Make sure you have all the materials before your children are in the tub, and don't turn your back on them, that way you can at least see them in your peripheral vision when you're not looking directly at them.

Make your cabinets look new again!
To make your kitchen cabinets look brand new
again, apply plain lemon oil after cleaning.
The lemon oil remoisturizes the wood and
makes light scratches and dings "disappear". It leaves a high gloss finish and smells good, too. This is good for any wood surface. I was amazed at how well it works. I thought I needed to re-stain or refinish my cabinets but the lemon oil did the trick at a fraction of the cost and elbow grease.

I ADD PINE NEEDLES TO THE BOTTOM OF MY CATS LITTER BOX TO GIVE IT A FRESH SCENT AND ALSO TO ABSORB. I KNOW SOME POEPLE USE PINE SHAVINGS TO COAT THE BOTTAM OF THE CAT BOX BUT PINE NEEDLES ARE FREE AND SMELL JUST AS GOOD!!!

making emergency flares for drivers
Stash away a couple of empty wax-type milk containers in the trunk to use as emergency flares if you are stuck on the road after dark. Each one will burn up to 15 minutes.

Mason rings and Mason jars
Old mason jar rings can be used as the washers for blender jars if they are cut and set in place before the glass. Alot cheaper than buying special replacement washer rings. Also I use mason jars for my blender that way I can process all types of food seqentially without having to clean the blender cup. A nice bonus is that the mason jars can be stored after and not take up as much room in the fridge. I also find that I can use the juice tops from frozen juice cans as a mason jar liner if my liner is rusted or dented.
