Laundry Basket Bath
This works great when baby has learned to sit up. Put a laundry basket in the tub (be sure it has a non-skid surface)and let him sit in the basket for his bath. He'll have a ball playing in the water, and he is "intact".

Lowering a high fever quickly for your child
When your infant or child has a high fever and medicine isn't working fast enough here is something you can do. Grab a washcloth and fold it in forths. Grab a little handful of cotton balls and place them on the washcloth. Pour some rubbing alcohol on the cotton balls to saturation. Place, cotton ball side down, directly on your infant or childs belly button and leave there for about 15-20 minutes. Check temperature after 10 minutes and you should notice the temperature starting to go down. After 15-20 minutes, fever should be down dramatically or completely gone. Repeat as necessary.

Make a Baby Toy
A quick and easy toy to make is fill a clear plastic soft drink bottle 3/4 full with water and little splash of food colouring and then add anything small that floats... the bottle will be brightly coloured with movable items in it... make sure that the lid is tightly shut though for safety reasons.

Messy Diaper Changes
I always keep a spray bottle filled with water and a few tablespoons of baby wash on the changing table. When my babies have a messy poop, I give their bottom a few sprits before wiping with a wipe. This cleans them off much better and faster than wipes alone. I also end up using fewer wipes as a result.

Milk help
For those who are breastfeeding especially, it was always hard for me to make sure I was giving the baby the right milk according to date, etc. Tape left sticky that I could never get off, tabs came off, etc. Finally, it dawns on me- washable marker dated on the bottom of the bottle, so it's not easily rubbed off, and can be washed off easily.

Mixing formula
Whenever I would try to mix my son's powdered formula in his bottle when we were out, I usually ended up with excess bubbles and foam that filled the bottle. I added 1 or 2 drops of Mylicon before shaking, and the bubbles disappeared. I've also used this when making big batches of formula at home.

Mobile Changing Station
Place a fabric lined basket complete with diapering supplies in other areas of you house where baby may play or sleep - other than his/her room. A mobile changing station should include wipes, diapers, powders/creams, some hand sanitizer, and a spare changing pad from an extra diaper bag. This is great for multi-level homes!

My colic baby
My baby was crying so much, so I went to a Jamaican Grocery and got him "Nurse Harvey's Gripe mixture." My baby stopped crying instantly, I was so relieved, because I had to do a final for class and I did, boy was I relieved.

Natural Baby Wipes
Instead of the chemical packed commercial baby wipes why not just buy a jumbo pack of cheap baby face cloths just for wiping little bottoms and just wet them with warm water. Baby oils or perfums are irritating and can clog pores. If you need wipes when you go out many health food stores carry wipes with all natural ingredients.

Need a shower but no one to help with baby?
My son is very clingy to me so I can't just put him in a bouncer or something and play peek-a-boo while I shower. So once he was old enough to sit up by himself without loosing his balance, I placed his infant bath in the bathtub away from the shower stream, filled it a little with water and bath toys. Now I can shower and he gets a bath at the same time!

No more lost pacifier in the car
This little trick saved me from having to pull over, get out of the car and reinsert the pacifier of a fussy infant. Buy one of those pacifier leashes and attach it to the strap of the infant car seat. This way, if it falls out and the baby starts to fuss, simply reach behind to the pacifier leash, fish it out and stick it back in. It is always best to wait until you are at a stop light or stop sign to do this! :)
