  • Balloon Wraps I always get my children the helium balloons for their birthdays. That way after the party is over I deflate the baloons and save them for wrapping paper. You simply cut straight across the bottom to make a pocket. Put the gift inside, tape the open end and -instant gift wrapping! • Barrette & Scrunchy hanger/recycled toy My niece has very long hair and no place to store hair things. I took a broken musical pull toy (mine was a bunny stretched to the point that it would no longer play music) and pinned barrettes/wrapped scrunchies around it. I then hung it on the wall where she could easily reach it. She now puts her own hair things away because she thinks the bunny is so adorable. • Bath Time While I'm bathing my two year old son, I remove my make-up from the day & moisturize my face. It saves me time while getting us ready for bed. Submitted By: Tammy Clark(Added: 14-Nov-2000 Hits: 0 Rating: 5.50 Votes: 2) Rate It

  • BATHROOM WINDOW FROST 4 T. Epsom salt 1 C. beer Dissolve Epsom salt in beer. Apply with a 2-inch wide brush to the inside of the windowpanes. It dries well, lasts a long time and, when washed off, is easily re-applied. Also, you can get prettier crystallization by dipping a terry cloth in the above mixture and dabbing it on. • Be honest Always be honest with your child when it comes to their singing talent. Don't say that they are good, when they really need to improve. I have judged so many talent shows and I can't believe some of the singing. Parents please, you're not doing your child any favors. If they need to practice more, please tell them, and work with them. They will benefit in the long run. Submitted By: Terri Gray(Added: 14-Sep-2005 Hits: 0 Rating: 1.00 Votes: 1) Rate It

  • bill paying I have found a good way to organize myself to pay the bills in a timely fashion....I use a calendar to log all of my bills on the date due including the amount ...I also note my paydays which are every 2 weeks while my husband's are every week...with a glance at the calendar I can see which bills are due when and where I might need to shuffle !!!! This has really helped me a great deal to keep this task organized.I also pay many bills on-line or with automatic deductions.that is another great timesaver....less paperwork...no stamps, envelopes, etc Submitted By: Diane(Added: 23-Feb-2005 Hits: 0 Rating: 10.00 Votes: 1) Rate It
  • Birth Defect Becomes Birth Affect Our oldest child, Rebecca, was born with a bilateral cleft lip and cleft palate when she was born. However, early on we taught her to turn her birth defect into a birth affect. In other words, she needs to make sure that her birth affects other and doesn't defect other. In fact, her sophomore year of high school, she won a public speaking contest and scholarship on that very subject. She originally planned to become a speech pathologist and was encouraged to do so by several speech pathologists. However, her love for English, writing and speech and drama was so strong that she recently changed her major to English and Communication Arts. She plans to get a BA and MA in English and was just awarded an academic scholarship at the Christian college to which she is transferring. We chose early on to homeschool her. Because of my background in special education, I believe she needed one on one teaching. We also rented an electric breast pump and gave her breast milk for 3 months. It took me an hour to feed her at each feeding. She had few infections. Her nasality is very minimal. God has gifted her with a beautiful soprano voice and is being considered by the music department for a non-music major audition scholarship. She has an extremely outgoing personality, great self-esteem, leadership skills (she won the U.S. Bronze Congressional Medal of Honor in high school) and absolutely adores children. When a child asks her what happened to her lip. She kindly and patiently explains how she was born and how God provided surgeons to repair her lip and palate. She has truly learned her lesson and turned her birth defect into a birth affect for her Heavenly Father! Submitted By: Susan Walker(Added: 4-May-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 5.50 Votes: 2) Rate It
  • Birthday Boxes I was looking for a birthday gift recently and decided we could come up with some craft ideas and made Birthday Craft Kits,(I did want a craft but did not want to spent $10 on one kit) So far, the kids have loved these birthday craft kits and the cost will range up from $4 depending on the number of craft kits you make for your kits. The most expensive item is the paint but if you watch the sales you can find paint for about $1.50 for 5. The birthday child can spend hours making these crafts, many without any help. 1. For the birds, Pinecones, bird seeds and peanut butter and string. Tie string around pinecone, spread peanut butter, dip in bird seed and hang for the birds. 2. Sock puppet. Socks, bits of fabric to decorate, glue, buttons and yarn. Put all items in a small ziploc. Cost about .60. 3. Puzzle frame glue, 4 craft sticks, puzzle pieces, paint. Paint the puzzle pieces, glue four craft sticks together to make a frame and glue painted puzzle pieces together, add glitter if you desire and place your picture inside frame. (Puzzles can be found at rummage sales for about .25 each) 4. Wrapping paper If you contact your newspaper company, they have sheets of newsprint that your child can use for wrapping paper. Have child paint or color on the paper and use for wrapping gifts. Submitted By: Joan(Added: 4-Mar-2001 Hits: 0 Rating: 0 Votes: 0) Rate It
