- Blue Jean Leg Pillows
Cut the legs off old blue jeans, sew the ends, stuff, and decorate for a great roll pillow. The ends can also be tied with pretty fabric or ribbon.

- Boil the blood out
As a woman sometimes our monthlies cause embarassing stains on underwear. First time I heard of the following I couldn't believe it would work but it does. A bottle of peroxide doesn't cost that much either so it is cheap. Pour peroxide on the stain and let it set to boil the blood out. Then use mild soap and water and wash by hand in cold water. Then add to regular wash. It really works and has kept me from throwing panties away.

- Boo Boo Sock
We filled an old sock slipper of my daughters with rice and tied a ribbon around the end. We keep it in the freezer for the occasional bumps and bruises. It does not get too cold, is easy for my daughter(5) and son(3) to handle and conforms nicely to all body parts. They ask for it as soon as a bump occurs and are "all better" within minutes and ready to move on to new adventures.

- Break the Picky Eater In To Real Food
If your kids are like my son, he had a menu that consisted of grilled cheese, mac and cheese and little else...I had to cook two separate meals every night until I instituted the Two-Bite Rule...He had to take two bites of everything I fixed before he got his grilled cheese or hotdog. You wouldn't believe what he eats now! It took a while, but now he asks for things like eggplant!

- Budget Birthday Cake Tips
By the time you buy presents, entertainment, decorations, cakes and favors, birthdays can quickly brake the bank! Here are a few possible ways to hang on to a few of those pennies:
Decorate your own cake. You don't have to own all of the special decorating supplies to make a fabulous cake. Decide on a shape for your cake and cut it out of a sheet cake. You will want to freeze it for several hours so the crumbs won't get in the icing. If you want to make special flowers or writing on your cake, don't go buy tips and baking bags. Simply take a large envelope and cut a tiny indention in the corner. For example, if you want to make leaves on your cake, cut a little V-shape out of the bottom corner. For writing, simply cut a tiny whole in the corner. Fill the envelope with frosting, seal it so the frosting won't bulg out, and squeeze just like you would a decorator's bag! When you're done you won't have to wash out a slimy bag either! To learn decorating techniques, your local grocery store will often let you observe their bakery decorator if you ask.

- Budget Birthday Entertainment
If you can't afford a clown or a cartoon character for your child's party, get a free professional story teller. Most libraries have skilled story tellers that will do a special session for your party if you ask a few weeks in advance. You usually don't have to pay for this service, kids love it, and you are sparking an interest in reading that will be very valuable later!

- Budget Birthday Entertainment and Decorations II
Make a play village for decoration and entertainment. You don't have to be a great carpenter or artist to give your preschoolers some great fun. Go to your local appliance store and get some refrigerator or washing machine boxes. With a few cuts for doors and windows and a little paint, you can make a glamorous little village that will keep the kids entertained for hours. For example, we did a bear party where we made houses for The 3 Bears, The Bernstein Bears, Pooh Bear (a round box painted as a tree), and even the Care Bears' rainbow with a fluffy white cloud (pillow stuffing) to jump in. The kids were enamored! For boys, you could make a train with several cars. Be as creative or as simple as you like!

- Budget Birthday Party Favors
Make your own favors. For my niece's bear party, we searched through magazines, clip art books and story books for cute teddy bears. We traced or copied them (be respectful of copy rights) and put them together in a cute little coloring book for each child. Attach a few crayons with a bright colored string, and your fabulous favors will be virtually free! If you're a seamstress, little aprons are adorable favors for little girl parties and don't take long to make!

- Bug Bite Easer
For painful insect bites or bee stings, make a paste of water and meat tenderizer and apply to the bite. It neutralizes the venom and gives almost immediate relief. PS - keep a bottle of meat tenderizer in the car, so ou always have it available.

- Burrs in Fur
You can remove burrs from a dog’s hair by working oil into the tangle with fingers… Another good way to get stubborn burrs out of a dog’s hair is to crush them with pliers. Collapsed burrs lose their holding power and can be combed out.
