- Bubble Wrap fun!
Whenever I get a package in the mail that has bubble wrap, I hang onto it for a rainy day. When that rainy day gets here, I pull out some of the bubble wrap, lay it on the floor and let the kids go crazy popping the bubbles by jumping on it and running across it! Instant fun!

- Buttering Toast
I have a very independent two year old, who likes to butter his own toast. We let him use a tongue depressor to do this, instead of a knife, its safer and he gets a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from completing this task!

- Car trips with a potty made easy!
While traveling this summer with our newly potty-trained 2 1/2 year old I came up with a great solution for using the potty on the road.
I simply fit a plastic grocery bag in the "pot" and placed a folded paper towel in the bottom (for absorbtion). Then I replaced the seat and closed the lid. We always had a clean place for her to go to the potty, and never had to worry about finding a place to stop. We'd just pull the car into a safe place, and she was all set! When she was all done, I'd tie the bag closed and toss it in the garbage. I kept her extra potty and extra bags in the car all summer so we were ready when she was!

- Children Learn by Playing
Children learn by playing. Playing is a natural and wonderful way for them to broaden their horizons and expand their thinking processes.
Provide them with the tools they need to play and learn with. Colored paper and bits of ribbon and glue, colorful buttons, pireces of wood and plastic. Anything that they can use to create dimension to their drawings and paintings.
They can express themselves and create away for hours.

- Clean Catsup Bottle
Small children love to squirt their own catsup on their hamburgers, fries, hotdogs, etc. Unfortunately, the bottle usually ends up a sticky gooey mess. I always buy the same size bottles and save the caps. I run them through the dishwasher and have spares so after meal time, we simply remove the lids, put a clean one on, and put the dirty one in the dishwasher, cap open, with the silverware. No messy bottles with dried up catsup at our home.

- Clean Potty
Use cheap coffee filters to line the potty and then just dump it in the commode after use. This way the potty is always clean.

- Cleaning Toddlers white sneakers.
I found the best way to clean those white baby/toddler sneakers. I use babywipes and just wipe of the dirt and grime. It cleans them right up and they look great. It even worked on the soles and rubber sides. They smell great too.

- Colors
To teach my child colors, I associate Sesame Street characters (and characters from other shows) to the color.
Elmo - Red - apple
Big Bird - Yellow - banana
Oscar - Green - grass
Now when I ask her the colors, she responds Elmo red, Oscar green, etc.
Seemed to work for us!

- Cool use for Kool-Aid containers
If you buy the big containers of Kool-Aid, here's a great way to recycle them. My 2 yr. old is always wanting a snack while shopping or in waiting rooms. So I took an empty Kool-Aid container and put the snack of his choice inside. The measuring cup lid can be used as a handy little bowl for your child to snack out of!

- Counting to Cleanliness
To teach my 3 1/2 year old to wash her hands more thoroughly, I encourage her to count to 10 once she has had 2 squirts of liquid soap on her hands.(5 on the fronts, and 5 on the backs) Then count again for rinsing. This helps to be sure that the soap is actually doing something, and also helps her learn to count. We might just go to 15 soon!

- Cozy Coupe Car Wash
One of my favorite rainy day activities is washing the yard cars. I just give my child a bowl full of soapy water and big sponge and line up the yard cars. A perfect time to scrub down those cozy coupes which seem to collect an odd array of dirt and muck (especially in that little space in the back. And since it is raining they get a free rinse and no one minds getting wet!!
